Local MSP tours Montrose ZeroFour site

Angus North and Mearns MSP Mairi Gougeon recently visited the ZeroFour enterprise hub, currently under development by Crown Estate Scotland.

Ms Gougeon met with Crown Estate Board member Euan McVicar and ZeroFour Built Development Manager Jamie Macfarlane at the 123-acre site, which will offer businesses high quality flexible spaces with innovative, energy efficient design.

Ms Gougeon, who is also the Scottish Government’s Cabinet Secretary for Rural Affairs & Islands, saw for herself the huge potential offered by ZeroFour, which aims to catalyse clean, green economic growth in the region, benefiting the rest of the country and sharing the positive outputs with partners around the world.

Having discussed the growth of the ZeroFour hub, Ms Gougeon commented: “I was very impressed both by the ambitious plans at ZeroFour to offer a ‘green’ location for business and by the way Crown Estate Scotland is working in close partnership with local organisations, including Dundee and Angus College, to help prepare people for careers in rapidly expanding economic sectors such as renewable energy.

“With the increasing importance of renewable energy off Scotland’s east coast, ZeroFour is well positioned to help provide the practical support to enable businesses and individuals to explore new opportunities in the blue and green economies.”

Work is now underway at the ZeroFour site to develop the infrastructure necessary to offer businesses serviced plots from 2023.
